Designing Safer Urban Environments: Spatial and Temporal Insights on Crime
Bus Stop Accessibility and Equity: Analyzing Design Standards for Transportation-Disadvantaged Groups
Walking for Leisure or Commerce: Built Environment Preferences across Age Groups
The conference was an inspiring opportunity to exchange ideas, engage with interdisciplinary perspectives, and discuss how design can support climate action and resilient communities. As always, it was also a meaningful time to reconnect with colleagues, meet new friends, and enjoy the local culture.
We are grateful for EDRA’s ongoing commitment to socially responsible and evidence-based design, and we look forward to continuing our shared efforts to create healthier, more inclusive environments. See you at EDRA57!

Fall Risk Behavioral Markers of Older Adults: Observing Indoor Environments and Behaviors Based on Individual Health Conditions
A Study on the Impact of Workplace Spatial Factors on Psychological Well-Being: Assessing Stress through Various Physiological Signals
Towards Human-Centered Urban Safety: Designing Urban Environments to Prevent Motorcycle Accidents
Differences in Urban Environmental Characteristics of Fatal Pedestrian Traffic Accidents by Age Group
Where Seniors Would Stay in Cities: Environment Preferences in Cities during Daily Trips in South Korea
The conference offered a valuable platform to engage with researchers, practitioners, and educators from around the world who share our passion for evidence-based environmental design. We especially appreciated the open discussions, warm connections, and of course, the beauty of Portland’s urban landscape.
We look forward to carrying the insights gained at EDRA55 into our ongoing projects and future collaborations. See you next year at EDRA56 in Halifax!

We share EDRA's mission and plan to continue putting our efforts into creating better environments for all people through our research and design. We hope to see many of you at the EDRA55 Portland conference next year!
"The Environmental Design Research Association (EDRA) is an international, interdisciplinary organization founded in 1968 by design professionals, social scientists, students, educators, and facility managers. EDRA came into being in the 1960s, during a period of social awareness and social unrest, but also new horizons and new visions. True to its origins, EDRA continues to believe in an agenda of social responsibility that has grown from a barely perceptible idea to a more fully-formed vision for healthier, more democratic human environments."
